COOLSIS iPhone App User Guide

OOLSIS is designed to help schools improve everyday workflow. COOLSIS enhances communication between the whole school community, helping faculty, teachers, parents, and students communicate easily and efficiently.

     With CoolSIS Mobile Application, parents and students receive real-time access to necessary and useful data such as Attendance, Assignments, Grades, Behavior, Schedule, Courses, Communication Log, Log-in History and more to stay up-to-date with the school.
 
Log-in Tips:
  • COOLSIS URL:This is the web address that you type in a web browser to access COOLSIS (for more information please contact the main office of your school). You may exclude "https://" and "/UI/" while typing the URL.
 
  • Remember Me Feature: By selecting this feature the mobile application will remember your login username and password. Furthermore, the iPhone application will display your school’s name and logo. 
 
Assignments: With the Assignments module, parents and students will always know when an assignment is due and what grades were given to each assignment. Users can click on the assignments to read the assignments description. They can also download uploaded documents, view all assignments through calendar, create assignment reminders on the calendar of their smart phones, and quickly e-mail teachers regarding the student's assignment grades and assignments. 
 
 
 
               
Attendance: Parents can check the attendance module to check all verified, unverified, and late records of their children. Each verified attendance contains a description explaining the attendance. Additionally both parents and students can easily e-mail teachers regarding the student’s unverified and late attendances.
 
 
 
 

Grades: Overall grades are available to view anytime. Parents and students can find the semester average and annual average grades for each course. 
 
 
 
 
Behavior: In each student’s behavior page, the current behavior status, score, and list of incidents are displayed. All behavior incidents contain details regarding the date and time, action, consequence and point value. Positive incidents have a blue color associated with them, while the negative incidents are associated with red.
Both parents and students can e-mail teachers regarding any positive or negative incidents and create reminders on the calendar of their smartphone to follow-up an incident.
 

Courses: Parents and students can view all the current enrolled courses of the academic term and easily contact teachers by a direct phone call or an e-mail. The courses module also provides access to the shared document folders of each enrolled courses, so that parents and students can download shared course documents such as homework, assignments and projects.
 
 
Schedule: Provides the student's schedule in a period view and a time view format for everyday of the week. 
         
 
 

Communication Log: Parents can check the Communication Log to check when the school staff members have contacted them regarding their student’s academic performance or behavior.

 
 

Log-in History: Shows the Log-in History of the user in a list sorted by most recent log-in with details including: date, time, IP-address, and whether the log-in was from a Web Browser, Android device, Apple device, or Online Inquiry.

 
 

Info: With the info page on the app, both parents and students can quickly email or call the school directly and never forget the school’s contact information as it can always be found in the info page. The parent’s contact information is also provided to help parents make sure that the school has the correct contact information.

             
Settings: Parents can now receive a notifications. Mobile notifications can only be setup on mobile or tablet devices by parents. With this setup parents will receive notifications for assignment grade changes, behavior incidents, and password reset confirmations. IMPORTANT!
 
  • This application is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch(3rd, 4th, 5th generations) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later.
  • Your school must be using COOLSIS. If you are not sure what information system your school is using, please contact your school.
